MailRecovery Suites 2012

OfficeRecovery has announced the release of MailRecovery Suites 2012. The suites bring together established tools for email recovery and management, and the new release is packed with new features and supported formats.

With email being the lifeblood of modern-day business, a reliable set of email management and recovery tools is a must-have. The fact becomes even more apparent when it comes to disaster recovery, granular search and recovery of email items, e-discovery, forensics and litigation support. For example, a corrupted Outlook PST file can hold valuable data that is paramount to restoring normal operation of a business, or a piece of evidence that can make or break a case in court.

Wherever there is need for advanced email management, there is a need for the strength and reliability of MailRecovery suites.

The MailRecovery 2012 Suites maintain the division to Client (supporting Outlook and Outlook Express) and Server (featuring the added support for Exchange Server) known from the previous releases.

A common improvement to the components of the MailRecovery 2012 suites is the new wizard-style user interface. The interface provides a smooth step by step data recovery process. For Enterprise and 1-Year Service licenses, the new user interface also has the capability of multi-file recovery.

MailRecovery 2012 Client: New Recovery for Outlook Data Browser with Export to EML

Recovery for Outlook 3.2 is the PST (Personal Storage Table) repair, recovery and management utility. It is shipped as a component of both MailRecovery Client and Server suites, and is also available standalone.

The new version of Recovery for Outlook has the option to export recovered messages into EML format, available through its Data Browser component. When exporting selected messages, the user can specify EML as the output format. The messages extracted as EML messages are essentially text files that can be searched, analyzed and processed in many ways. The EML generation feature also simplifies email migration, as EML import is widely accepted by email clients and migration tools.

Recovery for Outlook retains the regular export to PST capability, which is the default setting.

MailRecovery 2012 Server: New Recovery for Exchange Server with Support for the Latest Service Packs

Recovery for Exchange Server is an email management tool for offline Exchange databases, also known as EDB files. The utility provides users with access to email stored in an EDB file that is not mounted to Exchange Server. This allows for retrieval of the contents of database-level backups of Exchange stores without the need to launch the Exchange Server environment.

A distinguishing feature of Recovery for Exchange Server is its ability to read EDB email databases that have suffered various degrees of data corruption and cannot be mounted to the Exchange Server anymore. In many cases Recovery for Exchange Server is still capable of parsing the damaged database and presenting its contents for search and export.

The new Recovery for Exchange Server 5.5 has been has been significantly updated. The new features are:

  • Public Folders support for Exchange Server 2010;
  • support for Exchange Server 2010 Service Pack 1;
  • support for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 3.

A number of performance tweaks and bug fixes ensure faster processing of EDB files and better quality of recovery of items from corrupted email databases.
